AI Department conducted an inter-faculty workshop on the analysis of interim outcomes of the secondments within the project “Deep Intelligent Optical and Radio Communication Networks” (MSCA RISE Horizon 2020). During the workshop, researchers and doctoral students of the AI Department shared their testimonials and results after their internships at the AI company “TurinTech” (UK).

In particular, participants discussed the conclusions on the analysis of the IML approaches which can be used for channel status and load forecasting and the list of IML algorithms that can be applied to address challenges in high-capacity optical and radio communications.

From September 16 to 20, 2024, the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WroclawTech), Republic of Poland, hosted scheduled working meetings on the international project Education for Green Transitions GTUA-EDU NAWA 2024, funded by the Polish Academic Exchange Agency NAWA.

The university was represented by the project coordinator from ��������, Dean of the Faculty of Automation and Computerized Technologies, Professor of the KITAR Department Oleksandr Filipenko. Representatives of 7 partner universities from Ukraine and colleagues from the Wroclaw University of Technology discussed the vision and developed criteria: What should a university be like? What should the university community do to be recognized as a Green-University?

From September 16 to 21, 2024, within the framework of the implementation of the international project Education for Green Transitions GTUA-EDU NAWA2024, funded by the Polish Academic Exchange Agency NAWA (project coordinator prof. Oleksandr FILIPENKO), 6 students of the Faculty of ACT (Svitlana BEDENKO, Valeria HRYZHAK, Anna OMELIANENKO, Anastasia PRYLIPKO, Anastasia SOLYANYK, Anna SHEVCHENKO) and 3 students of the Faculty of KN (Mariya VARAVA, Iryna DEREVIANKO, Maria TOKHTAMYSH) took part in the international training program at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WroclawTech), Republic of Poland.

The curriculum included a series of seminars covering important areas of activity aimed at equipping future professionals with the competencies to ensure sustainable development opportunities:

On September 30 – October 1, the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference of otorhinolaryngologists of Ukraine “Diagnosis and treatment in otorhinolaryngology in modern conditions” was held in Ivano-Frankivsk.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the results of selection for financial assistance to support activities and modernization of collective use centers (CCCNO).

According to the results of selection of applications of collective use of scientific equipment, �������� will receive financial support for modernization, repairs, complex maintenance of unique scientific equipment and equipment and ensuring its smooth operation.

The project JoInME, which aimed to develop and launch the Multidisciplinary Training Programme on Entrepreneurship in the AI Field for Industry 5.0, ended in May 2024. This training programme was successfully developed, piloted during the European Virtual Venture course together with French colleagues from ECAM-EPMI  for ��������’s students of the AI bachelor programme and for ECAM-EPMI’s students of the engineering study programme, and finally approved by grant managing French Erasmus+ Agency.

Analyzing the results of the implementation of the project results, the AI department concluded that the impact at the institutional level was ensured through a direct contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, namely: SDG4 (Quality Education), SDG8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

On August 28, teachers and staff of the BMI department held a natural and cognitive event dedicated to the study of types of eco-tourism and biotourism with the use of specialized equipment for the study of bioresources of Ukraine.

Accumulated experience from many years of developing study programs in cooperation with European partners has enabled the AI Department to join the implementation of the project “Artificial Intelligence Skills Alliance – “, No. 101056236, funded by the Erasmus+ programme under the action “Alliances for Innovation”.

The project aims to deliver AI knowledge and skills across Europe and Ukraine, empowering individuals to understand, design, and utilize human-centered, trustworthy AI-based solutions. The implementation of this project will fast-track the upskilling and reskilling of employees, job seekers, business leaders, and policymakers into AI-related professions, thereby opening Europe to new business opportunities.

On July 17, 2024, a ceremony was held to award diplomas of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the laureates of named prizes and scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for 2022 – young scientists, doctors of science.

Doctor of technical sciences, Maryna Yevdokymenko, professor of the department of information and communication engineering named after V.V. Popovsky for the performance of scientific and technical work in 2022 on the topic “Design and optimization of cyber-resistant multi-service software-configured networks in conditions of failures and compromise of network equipment”.

On July 17, an educational event dedicated to endoscopic methods of ENT organ examination was held at the head and neck surgery department of the Kharkiv Regional Council’s municipal non-profit enterprise “Regional Clinical Hospital.” as part of career guidance work among applicants and master classes for applicants to the educational program “Biomedical Engineering”.

A master class for students and applicants of the Department of Biomedical Engineering was held in the reception room, which was damaged by enemy shelling, by an otolaryngologist and a third-level (educational and scientific) higher education student of the Biomedical Engineering Department of Kh�������� , as well as by the freelance chief otolaryngologist of the Kharkiv region, Mikhail Kalashnik, MD, PhD, associate professor.

On May 31, the traditional annual presentation of Ukrainian-French student business projects was held, concluding the cycle of the international entrepreneurship program European Virtual Venture. Students from the Artificial Intelligence Department at �������� and Graduate Engineering School ECAM-EPMI from Cergy, France, presented their business plans of startups to the expert jury (potential investors), focusing on developing intellectual products and services for agriculture, finance, healthcare, and city transport.

Among this year’s jury members was an innovation manager from the Technology Transfer Office of Coimbra University (Portugal), renowned for its successful cooperation with the business sector and support for technological spin-off companies. The University of Coimbra is a longstanding partner of the AI Department within the projects in capacity building of higher education.
