In 1978, she graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics with a speciality in “Electronic Computers”.
In 1981 she started working as an Instructor at the Department, in 1986 she worked as an Assistant Professor.

In 1984 she defended a PhD thesis.

In 1988, she became an Associate Professor, and since 1998, she has been a Professor at the Department of Electronic Computer Software (now the Department of Software Engineering).

Educational activity

She has made a significant contribution to the development of the “Software Engineering” major. She has been a scientific advisor on many postgraduate, master’s and specialist projects. She has been delivering the following courses: Intellectual Property, Systems Modelling, and Introduction to Software Engineering.

She has trained 5 Candidates of Science in the speciality 05.13.06 – “Automatic Control Systems and Advanced Information Technologies,” 01.05.02 – “Mathematical Modeling and Computational Approaches”. Worked as an engineer of the SKB of automatic control systems (Kharkiv).

Since 1967 – postgraduate student, and since 1970 – lecturer of the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics).

In 1971 he defended his PhD thesis.

1989 – received the scientific degree of the Doctor of Technical Sciences in the field of technical cybernetics.

Educational activity

From 1995 to 2003 he was in the position of Dean of the Faculty of Computer Engineering and Management. During the period of work the dean at the faculty opened seven specialties in the field of new information technologies in the following areas:

Computer Engineering.
Computerized control systems.
Informational security.

For the last ten years he has been a member of the Presidium of the Scientific and Methodological Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on computer engineering, participated in the elaboration of basic normative documents of two-level education in Ukraine – standards of bachelors, specialists, masters in computer engineering

Research activities

Prof. Krivulya G.F. is the founder of the scientific school for technical diagnostics and computer-aided design of computer engineering, and 22 candidates and 4 doctors of technical sciences have been trained under his guidance. Education and Career

In 1980, he graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics, specialising in “Automated control systems”.

Ph.D. – 1987. The thesis was defended on 18 December 1987 at the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics.

Doctor of Sciences – 2005. The thesis was defended on February 25, 2005, at Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. Speciality 05.13.06 – automated control systems and progressive information technologies. The subject of the thesis is multi-agent technologies of integration of heterogeneous information systems and distributed databases.

Professor of artificial intelligence since 2006. The main stages of pedagogical activity:

September 14, 1989 – Assistant, April 15, 1992 – Lecturer, Department of Technical Cybernetics, Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics.
On September 1, 1993 – Associate Professor, Department of Technical Cybernetics (Since 1999 – Department of Artificial Intelligence).
On September 1, 2005 to 2014 – Professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence.
2014 – 2024 – Head of Artificial Intelligence Department.
From 02.01.2025 – Professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence.

Research interests: Distributed databases, multi-agent systems, information systems, and data mining.

In 2000 participated in the project TEMPUS-UM_CP-20560-1999 for the use of the European system of educational loans (EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS)) in the system of higher education in Ukraine.

2020 – participated in the project H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020 «Deep Intelligent Optical and Radio Communication Networks» (DIOR).

S.V. Chumachenko is a holder of the third Degree Certificate, which is included in the database of the best specialists in the region. She got a diploma “The Best Lecturer of Kh�� of 2003”.

As a member of the research team she became a winner of the research projects competition in the area of computer-aided design of integrated circuits (from Intel Corporation, 2003).

S.V. Chumachenko is a holder of the City Award “The Best Young Scientist of Kharkiv” (the Diploma of the City Mayor) in the nomination “Scientific Activity” (2004).

She got a Certificate of Merit and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Kh�� Rector for her steady and diligent work and for her creative attitude to her duties (2004, 2005, 2010).

For significant achievements in science, she got grants named after G.F. Proskura (in engineering sciences) from the Kharkiv Regional Administration (2005). S.V. Chumachenko is a holder of the Certificate of International Recognition from the IEEE Computer Society for voluntary work in organizing scientific symposia – “IEEE Certificate of Appreciation for Significant Services to East-West Design and Test Symposium for over Three Years” (2006).

For her long-term, conscientious work, for her considerable contribution to the development of education and science, and for training highly qualified specialists, she was given a Certificate of Appreciation from the Dzerzhinsky District Administration (2010).

February 25, 2021 – Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for considerable personal contribution to the development of science and education, the introduction of modern methods of training and education of young people, long-term fruitful pedagogical activity and high level of professionalism, merits before the Ukrainian people.
