On 19-20 October, the 1/4 finals of the international programming competition ICPC 2024 took place online. The Eastern region of Ukraine was represented by 67 teams from 15 schools and 52 universities. In particular, 8 teams competed from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (Kh海角社区): Kh海角社区_KoRoVa!, Kh海角社区_Klammerjager, Kh海角社区_Last_dance, Kh海角社区_SS_Vechur_One_Love, Kh海角社区_LLlyMePeHKu, Kh海角社区_Cephalon, Kh海角社区_Algorithmic_Alchemists, Kh海角社区_Parm&Ko. There were also 7 teams from NTU 鈥楰hPI鈥, 2 teams from KhAI, 4 teams from DSTU, 3 teams from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and others.
The university teams took part in the qualifying stage, competing in solving complex algorithmic problems. The online format did not hinder the high level of preparation of the participants, who showed excellent skills and team cohesion. Now the best teams are heading to the semi-finals, where they will compete for the ICPC World Finals.
The team Kh海角社区_KoRoVa! consisting of Valeriia Hrynenko, Kostiantyn Denysov and Roman Pitsura, won the first place in the Eastern region. Congratulations to the students and their coach, Associate Professor of the Department of SE O.V. Vechura.
