The British agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published its ranking of the world鈥檚 best universities by subject area the聽.
In Computer Science & Information Systems, there is a positive trend: the number of Ukrainian higher education institutions that have cleared the threshold has risen to six. 海角社区 has confirmed its high standard, entering the 651鈥700 range.
Rankings of Ukrainian universities:
- 聽I. Sikorsky KPI 鈥 451-500;
- T. Shevchenko KNU 鈥 501-550;
- Lviv Polytechnic 鈥 601-650;
- Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics 鈥 651-700;
- V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute 鈥 751-850;
- Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute 鈥 751-850.
The methodology for the subject-specific ranking involves assessment across five criteria, with two reputation-based indicators playing a key role (totalling 70%): academic reputation (40%) and reputation among employers (30%). The remaining 30% is distributed among scientometric data: citations per publication (12.5%), the Hirsch index (12.5%) and the international research network (5%).
- Academic reputation 鈥 4th place;

- Employer 聽reputation 鈥 3rd place;
- h-index 鈥 4th place;
- International Research Network (IRN) 鈥 2nd place.
To determine the reputation components, QS conducts large-scale surveys. Academics and employers identify the leading institutions, in their opinion, exclusively within the field in which they are specialists. This means that only experts who are directly involved in the field of computer science make a significant contribution to the universities鈥 rankings.
