A joint distance learning project between and Novovodolazky Sanatorium School has been running for over 15 years. This project was created for orphaned children and children deprived of parental care, with organisational and .

Today, the school offers three areas of study: Humanities, Biotechnology, and Information Technology.

The Information Technology programme opens the door to IT, programming, digital systems, and innovation. Pupils gain modern knowledge and practical skills that meet the requirements of the real market. A particular advantage of this profile is the cooperation with , one of the leading technical universities in Ukraine.

Education in the information technology profile includes:

  • Basics of programming (Python, Java, C++);
  • Working with algorithms, databases, and web technologies;
  • Introduction to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, computer networks;
  • Practical classes, master classes and projects with teachers;
  • Participation in hackathons, Olympiads, IT forums.

Distance learning courses are free for all students, regardless of their social status.

On 26 June 2025, based on the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Council dated 26 June 2025 No. 1221-VIII, “Novovodolazky Sanatorium School” was officially reorganised into the .

In regard to the reorganisation, the rector of , Ihor Ruban, met with the acting director Novovodolazky Academic Lyceum ‘START-IT’, Larysa Kalashnyk. They discussed areas for further cooperation, continuous education for gifted students, developing their creative abilities, and identifying students’ interests in information technology subjects.
